As a member of Goshen Publishers’ Cohort Grand, you should take the last quarter of 2023 to prepare for success in 2024!
Planning
November: Authors will receive emails with accounts setup. We will use Dropbox for file sharing, Slack for announcements, and a private FaceBook group for socials.
December: Authors must submit their proposals. [More details below.]
January 8: Cohort meetings begin. Group meetings will be the 2nd Monday of each month via Zoom.
January: Each author will have 1-on-1 monthly coaching sessions via Zoom, via a fixed appointment on the same day each month for 6 months (Feb-July).
Your Package
You will publish a paperback book (not to exceed 200 pages; larger books may incur additional expenses) published and listed on GoshenPublishers.com and Amazon.com.
You will have
six scheduled 1-on-1 sessions with a writing coach,
a webpage on GoshenPublishers.com/our-authors,
a strategic marketing plan,
monthly social media content for one year,
an invitation to our Spring writers' retreat at no additional cost, and
an in-person book release event for the entire Cohort in September 2024.
Contract
Be on the lookout for a contract that includes all of the fine print. Be sure to sign electronically. Dr Richmond will also sign. You’ll receive a copy for your records. However, here’s the part everyone wants to know:
You own the copyrights to your book. You are free to shop it, sell it, make it into a movie, use it for conferences, etc.
When you sell your book, you will keep 100% of the proceeds.
Royalties are calculated as follows: $SRP - $printing&shipping. For example, if your book sells for $20 and the cost of P&S is $4,
When you sell your book, you make $16. (Goshen makes $0.)
When Goshen sells your book, we will split the royalties 50/50: $8/Author; $8/Goshen.
When Amazon sells your book the royalties split is 3 ways: $5.33/Amazon; $5.34/Author; $5.33/Goshen.
We pay royalties via direct deposit into the bank account that you provide.

Your book proposal will help us set you up for success! Please use our book proposal template to create your first draft. Just start filling in your information in the different sections, and before you know it your outline/proposal will be done! Don’t forget to go back and delete our italic coaching notes, though! You should submit your proposal by December 31, 2023. We will provide additional instructions.
